Easter is probably my favorite holiday! Its meaning stretches far beyond little bunnies and egg hunts for me. My roots run deep in this holiday, and I’m so thankful for the ability to freely celebrate our risen Savior, Jesus! While I hold tight to these beliefs, I’ve always enjoyed the other activities Easter brings as well.
I remember coloring eggs as a kid and the excitement of thinking about which colors I would choose. I also enjoy eating all things boiled eggs (egg salad, deviled eggs, need I say more?), so having an abundance of hard-boiled eggs around is fine by me!
If you’re heading out to gather with family or friends for Easter this weekend and would like to bless your host or hostess with a fun, out-of-the-box gift idea, I've got a pretty cute idea.
DIY Egg Coloring Kit
I don’t care how old you get - coloring Easter eggs is still fun. Half the battle (at least for me) is boiling all of those eggs! I've learned that having chickens that lay different-colored eggs brings this activity to a new level. The eggs become such beautiful colors!
For a fun and easy hostess idea, I will bring already-boiled eggs and a little kit for my hosts to color their eggs. You can also make a cute little thank-you note for them, and you’re all set! Of course, you could also send a dozen non-boiled eggs, and your hosts will still go wild for them too.
I repurposed a store-bought kit and added some stuff, but you could also use food coloring!
Here’s my secret for the best hard-boiled eggs for Easter eggs - air fryer!
Air Fried Hard-Boiled Eggs
Place eggs in a cold air fryer. Set the temperature to 250 degrees and the timer for 18 minutes. When the eggs are done, I run them briefly under cold water. They are perfectly done and peel great! Remember that air fryers are all a little different, and you may have to experiment. However, there’s no turning back for me!
I pray your Easter is full of all the things you love the most. He is risen! He is risen indeed!
Until next time,
