I find myself standing in front of the refrigerator more often than not wondering what on earth I’m going to make for supper. Does anyone else do this? Haha. I do much better when I have a plan, but let’s be honest… sometimes that plan disappears somewhere between chores, errands and everyday life.

That’s why I love recipes like this one. If you have leftover Easter ham, you likely already have most of these ingredients sitting in your fridge and cupboards. And this recipe is a winner in our house!

My favorite part? You don’t have to plan ahead. So many ham slider recipes call for letting them sit overnight in the refrigerator, but not this one. You can put them together, pop them in the oven and have a warm, melty supper on the table in no time. It’s simple, fast and perfect for busy families looking for an easy way to use up Easter leftovers.

Ingredients for Ham and Swiss Sliders

  • ¾ cup melted butter

  • 1 ½ tablespoons Dijon mustard

  • 1 ½ teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 ½ tablespoons poppy seeds

  • 1 tablespoon dried minced onion

  • 24 mini sandwich rolls (or 12 large rolls)

  • 1 pound thinly sliced cooked ham (leftover Easter ham works perfectly)

  • 1 pound thinly sliced Swiss cheese

How to Make Ham and Swiss Sliders

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

  2. In a bowl, mix together the melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, poppy seeds and dried onion.

  3. Separate the tops from the bottoms of the rolls and place the bottom halves in the prepared baking dish.

  4. Layer about half of the ham onto the rolls.

  5. Add a layer of Swiss cheese, then top with the remaining ham slices.

  6. Place the tops of the rolls back onto the sandwiches.

  7. Pour the butter mixture evenly over the rolls.

  8. Bake until the rolls are lightly browned and the cheese is melted, about 20 minutes.

  9. Slice into individual sliders and serve warm.

We love to serve these easy ham sliders with a simple side of vegetables and fruit. Sometimes my husband will even throw a few BBQ chips right on his sandwich for a little extra crunch. Everyone has their own way of doctoring them up!

You can also switch up the cheese if Swiss isn’t your favorite. Cheddar, provolone or pepper jack all work great. That’s the beauty of a recipe like this, it’s flexible, forgiving and always delicious.

So if you’re staring at the refrigerator wondering what to do with all that leftover Easter ham, I’ve got you covered. This is one of those recipes your family will ask for again and again.

Until next time,
