As many of you know, I have 28 chickens and counting! This was never my plan. I was a hard stop at 6 chickens but here we are. I’m even adding to our flock in again in a couple of weeks! I placed my order with Hoover’s Hatchery and am patiently awaiting their arrival.
In the past, I've ordered chicks in the mail, bought them at our local farm supply store and even hatched my own eggs. It’s no secret that baby chicks need some extra care in their first few weeks of their life. Especially if they’ve had to go through a significant amount of transportation!

Baby Nugget with the products that literally saved her life.
I’d like to tell you a short story about one of my silkies. I bought Nugget from our local farm supply store. Along with her other silkie sisters, she came to our home and went straight into the brooder. We quickly noticed that Nugget wasn’t quite right. She kept looking straight up and off to the side.
