Looking for an unbeatable apple crisp recipe? Well, you’ve come to the right place! I’ve spent the last 20 years perfecting this recipe, and trust me, it’s worth the effort. The first time I made apple crisp, it was... not great. Just ask my husband—he still laughs about it! But after plenty of trial and error, I’ve nailed it.

Bring this apple crisp to your next gathering, and you might just be the star of the show!

It’s no secret that I’m not a gourmet chef, but if I can handle this recipe, so can you.

Annie’s Famous Apple Crisp Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Peeled, sliced apples (enough to fill ½ to ¾ of a 9x13 pan)

For the Apple Mixture:

  • ¾ cup sugar

  • 2 tbsp flour

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

For the Crisp Topping:

  • 2 sticks softened butter

  • 2 cups brown sugar

  • 1 cup flour

  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Pan: Spray a 9x13 baking dish with nonstick spray and preheat your oven to 350°F.

  2. Fill with Apples: Fill the bottom of the dish with peeled and sliced apples, enough to cover about half to three-quarters of the pan.

  3. Make the Apple Mixture: In a bowl, mix together ¾ cup sugar, 2 tbsp flour and 1 tsp cinnamon. Pour this mixture evenly over the apples.

  4. Prepare the Topping: In a separate bowl, mix 2 sticks of softened butter, 2 cups of brown sugar, 1 cup of flour and 1 cup of oats. Stir until combined and crumbly.

  5. Assemble: Sprinkle the crisp topping evenly over the apples.

  6. Bake: Bake for 1 hour, or until the topping is golden and the apples are bubbly.

Variations You’ll Love

This apple crisp may not be the healthiest dessert on the planet, but it’s the perfect indulgence for fall! The best part? You can easily switch it up. I use the same recipe for peach crisp and rhubarb crisp, and they turn out just as delicious. Serve it with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, and you’re good to go!

So, there you have it—my tried-and-true apple crisp recipe. It’s easy, it’s delicious and it’s a crowd-pleaser every time. Try it out, and let me know how it goes!

Until next time, – The Wing Lady
