Can you believe we’re heading into the 4th of July weekend? Summer seems to fly by, and before we know it, those long, sunny days are behind us. Whatever your plans are this weekend, I’ve got a fun, easy cookie recipe that’s perfect for any gathering!
While I usually make these no-bake cookies at Christmas, I thought it would be simple to transform them into festive 4th of July firecracker cookies! With the perfect mix of salty and sweet, these cookies are always a crowd favorite. Plus, they only require 3 ingredients and no bake, making them quick and easy to prepare with minimal cleanup!
No-Bake Firecracker Cookie Recipe
Ingredients
30 oz. white chocolate (I recommend Ghirardelli melting wafers)
12 oz. bag of chow mein noodles
16 oz. can of roasted peanuts (or substitute with another nut if needed for allergies)
Optional: Add food coloring and festive sprinkles for extra 4th of July flair!
Directions
Melt the chocolate: You can do this over medium-low heat on the stovetop or in the microwave for 30-second intervals, stirring in between. Be careful not to overheat, or the chocolate will burn!
Mix ingredients: Pour the melted chocolate over the chow mein noodles and peanuts, stirring well to coat everything evenly.
Spoon onto parchment paper: Using a spoon, drop the mixture onto parchment or wax paper in your desired size.
Decorate: Add your 4th of July sprinkles while the chocolate is still soft. For red, white, and blue cookies, divide the melted chocolate into separate bowls and use food coloring to create your patriotic colors.
Let them set: Once your cookies are shaped and decorated, let them cool and harden. Then, they’re ready to enjoy!
This recipe makes about 3 dozen cookies, depending on the size you choose to make.
Celebrate Freedom with a Sweet Treat
These firecracker cookies are a fun and festive way to celebrate our nation’s freedom. We never take for granted the honor of living in the United States, and these cookies are the perfect way to enjoy the holiday with friends and family.
Happy 4th of July to you all!
